Among all the celebrity cosmetics lines fighting for consumers' attention, one is removing itself from the competition.
Actress Cheryl Hines is halting the sales of her brand with her daughter "Hines + Young" following husband Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s appointment as the head of the Department of Health and Human Services.
The Florida native started her eco-friendly brand roughly two years ago, sharing she wanted to "start a self-care collection of just trying to stay calm, and feel good, and smell good."
When did Cheryl Hines start a cosmetics brand?
Hines + Young was quietly started in 2023, billed as a "luxury line that does not come in plastic." They sold skincare and lifestyle products with all-natural ingredients, including lip balm, lotion, and candles.
On the website, the "Curb Your Enthusiasm” star shares her story of starting her brand with her daughter, Catherine, and how her career inspired her interest in cosmetics. She even notes her upbringing in Florida.
"Our products are made from exceptional, natural ingredients and are packaged in recyclable glass and aluminum. With our products you’ll find fragrances from across the world, some that include a little nod to the scents from my childhood," Hines writes.
"I’ve had so much fun working with my family and our scientists to come up with the perfect self-care line, and we can’t wait to share it with you- so we can all feel good about feeling good."
Why does Cheryl Hines have to cease operations on cosmetics brand?
According to a financial disclosure back in January, Kennedy confirmed his financial interests, assets, income, and debts — which include Hines' cosmetics brand.
“I will not participate personally and substantially in any particular matter that to my knowledge has a direct and predictable effect on the financial interests of Hines & Young, LLC,” Kennedy’s financial disclosure said.
When will Hines + Young shut down?
It's unclear when exactly the shop will cease operations. However, the disclosure gives some insight.
“My spouse has agreed that Hines & Young, LLC, will stop sales of the company’s cosmetic inventory no later than 90 days from the date of my appointment,” the disclosure reads.
Kennedy was appointed on Feb. 13.

Their product line ranged from skincare to luxury candles. She even sold a candle with the word “MAHA,” on it, referencing Kennedy’s “Make America Healthy Again” movement.
Under the "liquidation" tab, Hines is offering large deals when customers purchase items in bulk, including:

- 12 4 oz. candles for $70, marked down from $240
- 12 Pacific Isle 4oz Body Creams for $100, marked down from $300
- 12 4 oz. Hyannis Seagrass Glass Linen Spray for $100, marked down from $336

When did Cheryl Hines and RFK Jr. get married?
Hines married Kennedy Jr. in August 2014,a second marriage for her and a third for him. She credits her on-screen husband with introducing the pair, saying Larry David introduced her to Kennedy in 2006 at a ski weekend fundraiser for the Waterkeeper Alliance.
The pair didn't reconnect until 2010. In 2020, in honor of their wedding anniversary, he dedicated a since-deleted Instagram post to his wife.
"Thanks for the unimaginable happiness, for your wise and compassionate counsel, for your generous spirit, for your faithful companionship in joy and grief, for the love you’ve given our children. And for the endless laughter," he wrote.
Cheryl Hines posted a shower video of RFK Jr. to promote beauty line
In late November, USA TODAY reported on the viral video of the actresspromoting her beauty lineon Instagram,which featured herhusbandshowering semi-nude behind his wife. She added "Oh Bobby," to the text portion of her now-expired Instagram story.
In the video, Hines reprimands Kennedy for hopping in the shower as shetalks about her beauty company's Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales.
"No. You can't take a shower. I'm doing a video,"Hines said. "No, no. I'm doing … you've got to give me a second. I'm doing a video from Hines + Young. Honey."
